A Simplistic Review: ‘Late Night With The Devil’

A movie a missed out on during Fantasia Fest 2023, but man, but a picture.

Set in the heyday of America’s ‘Satanic Panic’ of the 1970s, a fledgling late night host, Jack Delroy, played by the always reliable David Dastmalchian, plans a very special Halloween Special that slow descends into a night of Prime Time Hell.

The slow burn of “Late Night With The Devil” plays out with all the pomp and circumstance of a live late night talk show with a “willing” co-shot, live band and classic Carson-iike quips but as the show builds towards it climax….well, you just have to see it to believe it. You just have to ride the WAVE.

Solid pacing and acting make this a film to either seek out at your local independent theater, or hey, if you have Shudder, enjoy the streaming premier on April 18th 2024.
