A Simplistic Review I Peacock (2025)
*Review from the 56th Nashville Film Festival
My personal surprise from this year’s Nashville Film Festival was a film not even on my radar. The simple word; ‘Peacock’ was the irreverent and off-the-wall SURPIRSE I didn’t know I needed.
Matthias works a simple gig at MyCompanion; pretty much Uber for people that need a friend, a son to take to a 60th birthday part, a dad to take to ‘TAKE YOUR FATHER TO WORK DAY’ and even a stand-in husband that you can practice yelling at.
Needless to say, our dear Matthias is starting to see that his job, which he is quite good at, isn’t fulfilling his day-to-day life; even in a world where you can rent a dog on demand; things aren’t as easy as they seem.
‘Peacock’ reminds of the early work of Yorgos Lanthimos; it’s dark, creepy, absurd and take you on a weird ride.
