Fantasia 2025 | Funky Forest: First Contact

Funky Forest is less of a movie and more of a fever dream stitched together by three directors who clearly had no intention of following cinematic rules. It’s absurd, surreal, hilarious, gross, beautiful, and frustrating—sometimes all within the same scene. Clocking in at over two hours, it’s a chaotic collage of skits that range from awkward alien school dances to weird bodily fluids and philosophical nonsense.

Some moments are genuinely funny or strangely touching, while others feel like you’re trapped in a sketch that forgot its punchline. It’s not for everyone, but if you’re in the mood for something truly weird and totally unpredictable, Funky Forest delivers an experience that’s hard to forget—even if you’re not quite sure what you just watched.
