$POSITIONS is a “Unsetting” slow-burning descent into the crumbling psyche of a man on the edge—caught between financial ruin, family pressure, and an unhealthy obsession with crypto and chance. What begins as a grounded, blue-collar drama quietly morphs into something more eerie and metaphysical, blurring the line between reality and the supernatural.

This film leans into a sense of dread that builds from desperation, not jump scares. The performances are surprisingly raw, especially from its lesser-known cast, and there’s a worn-down humanity in the lead character that sticks with you. While not everything lands—pacing issues and an ambiguous genre identity might lose some viewers—its ambition and emotional honesty make it a standout in this year film fest.
